Before I Found PACE
Hear the Experiences of PACE Participants and Caregivers
We want to share the new video series, “Before I Found PACE,” from the National PACE Association. The video series aims to illustrate the need to expand PACE and its services across the country. We believe hearing directly from PACE participants and caregivers is very helpful for those deciding whether or not to enroll in PACE services.
While we recommend watching all of the videos in the series, we want to highlight a couple we found especially compelling. We are so grateful to these individuals for their willingness to share their stories!
“It was so hard, every day, all day, just watching the dementia and watching my mother literally not be [someone] I could recognize… PACE [Southeast Michigan] has allowed us to miss each other in a way…I’m so glad that I know that where she’s going, she’s going to be taken care of.” - Khadija Shabazz, caregiver of a PACE participant
“If I hadn’t found PACE [Alexian Brothers Community Services], my life would probably be in a nursing home or I would have to go live with my son...All I needed was a chance to just stay in my house and that is what PACE allowed me to do.” - Phyllis Benning, PACE participant
You or your loved one may one day share your own positive experiences with PACE. If you are ready to learn more about McGregor PACE, please reach out to our team to determine your eligibility. We are here to help our participants and their families navigate our enrollment process and can get you started today.
