Achieving Workforce Diversity and Safety

Improving Inclusion and Diversity Within Health Care Teams

Promoting Employees’ Health and Well-Being

There are two central goals shared by most health care providers today:

  • The first is to continue to build diverse teams and inclusive cultures in our workplaces.
  • The second is to protect our current employees’ health and well-being and retain them within our organizations.

Let’s take a closer look at how McGregor PACE is working toward both goals.

Goal 1: Build Diverse Teams
As baby boomers and long-time health care workers are retiring at a high rate, health care organizations must find new ways of attracting and retaining the next generation of workers. There is encouraging momentum in our industry currently around improving inclusion and diversity. We know that more diverse and inclusive teams create better outcomes in the diverse communities of patients they serve—this includes higher employee retention, better engagement, and more effective problem-solving. McGregor PACE, and the entire McGregor organization, is committed to diversity and inclusion in our hiring. If you are seeking a career in the health care field, we strongly encourage you to consider working in senior care and view job opportunities across all McGregor facilities in Cleveland.

Goal 2: Protect Our Current Employees’ Health and Well-Being
Our health care employees have been greatly tested during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the health care industry has always been challenging, our workers’ fears and anxieties have been amplified. Organizations like McGregor PACE must do everything we can to protect our workers as well as our patients. This means watching for signs of burnout and compassion fatigue, looking for ways to provide flexible schedules and work shifts, and offering virtual or remote work opportunities as we are able. We are also committed to educating our employees about the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine and encouraging team members to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves as well as their coworkers, patients, and families.

Our team is here to be of any help or support to other senior care organizations working to meet these challenges. If you would like to learn more about working for PACE or utilizing our services for yourself or a loved one, please let us know.
