Denise Willis enjoys representing McGregor PACE, or Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly. Part of her job as the lead Intake Coordinator at PACE is to gauge the needs of potential residents and help them in any way she can, regardless of whether or not they end up at McGregor. Watching residents thrive is her greatest reward.
When talking to family members and potential participants, Denise determines their situation and whether there are major changes or a crisis in their lives, some of which she has lived out in her own home. She knows that a lot of seniors don’t know what other programs offer, and they appreciate being cared for and their needs taken into consideration. She then introduces them to possible solutions that are applicable to their situation, or general options that are out there. She tries to provide as much support as possible but reaches out to experts if she doesn’t have the answer. For instance, there are also medical staff and social workers who are part of the McGregor PACE team that help each other out.
McGregor PACE has allowed her to follow her passion for helping others with the services it offers. Her goal is to enable others to “continue a portion of their independence” while remaining in the community near their loved ones during major life transitions. This is why she has continued to stay at McGregor PACE.
