What Is a Life Plan Community?
PACE Participants Can Access Continuing Care at McGregor Assisted Living
Like many other senior care providers across the country, McGregor PACE is committed to providing continuing care services for seniors in Cuyahoga County.
Our focus on continuing care stems from an awareness that older adults need a range of services and living options at different times in their life. PACE participants—qualified adults age 55 years and older who are aging in place at their home in Cuyahoga County—have essentially arrived at the first destination within a Life Plan Community.
Step 1: PACE program (still living at home)
Step 2: Independent Living (living without any nursing care in a senior living facility)
Step 3: Assisted Living
Step 4: Nursing Care
The central goal of a Life Plan Community is to provide multiple living options that allow a resident to access greater levels of care as needed but remain in the same community.
At some point in time, PACE participants may realize that they need some additional care because they are no longer able to keep up with housework, manage laundry or other daily living tasks, or drive. When it is no longer possible for a PACE participant to remain in their home safely, there is an option for affordable assisted living. McGregor offers the ability for seniors to progress from PACE into a continuing care living community at McGregor Assisted Living.
