PACE Centers and Services Support Cleveland Seniors
Understand the Unique Benefits of PACE
PACE, a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly, offers significant peace of mind for seniors and their families. The program is designed to help more seniors age in place in their home within their local community.
In many cases, PACE participants and their caregivers describe their experience in the program as life changing. This is not surprising given the situations that many Cleveland seniors and their families were in before discovering PACE. Some seniors were struggling to live at home independently and battling isolation due to a lack of social engagement and support. At the same time, their caregivers were suffering emotionally and physically as they tried to balance their loved one’s care and needs with their own personal responsibilities. For these seniors and their caregivers, PACE is undoubtedly life changing.
How does PACE provide peace of mind? Here are just a few ways:
- Transportation is provided for seniors to and from PACE centers, alleviating the burden on their caregivers.
- Caregivers are able to work and address their own daily responsibilities without feeling stressed or anxious because they know their loved one has a place to go during the day.
- Seniors previously struggling with isolation now have ample opportunities for social engagement and interaction with peers and PACE staff.
- Seniors are supported in their desire to age at home in their community through a variety of support and medical services, including in-home health care.
These are only a few of the many ways in which PACE provides peace of mind. We invite you to hear more from Cindy Cohen, Nurse Practitioner, and Elizabeth Miller, Quality Assurance Director, at McGregor PACE during their appearance on WKYC’s Live on Lakeside program.
