Taking Steps to Ensure Safe Reopening of Day Health Centers
McGregor PACE is closely following guidelines and recommendations regarding the future reopening of senior day health care centers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have opened our PACE centers to participants only for health checkups and therapy services and have not offered any adult day health activities or transportation.
While we do not yet have a definite date for reopening for all services, we do know that day will come, and we are taking steps to prepare now.
What changes can PACE participants expect? We are still working on the details but some definite changes to anticipate include:
- Buses used for PACE transportation will not be able to run at full capacity, meaning transportation to and from PACE adult day centers may be more limited.
- Social distancing will be required in all common areas—dining areas, activities areas, and transportation, as noted. During activities and mealtimes, tables will be limited to one person per table. Meals provided will include a hot continental breakfast and lunch.
- All general recommendations to combat the spread of COVID-19 will be followed, not only practicing social distancing but using gloves, masks, and sanitizers.
The most important thing to remember is this: the quality of our service will not change with the reopening. We are committed to providing a clean and sanitized environment for our participants to safely return and enjoy their meals and activities.
Throughout this time, we are continuing to enroll participants in PACE. You can print off an enrollment application or call to sign up. Our intake coordinators are also continuing to do home visits to speak with prospective participants. Reach out today with questions or to begin the enrollment process.
