The Lesser-Known Benefits of PACE

Advantages of PACE for Participating Seniors

Comprehensive Support Services Offer Reassurance for Families

When it comes to their general knowledge of PACE, many seniors are familiar with our key services like transportation, access to our adult day health centers, and hot meals. However, there are some lesser-known benefits of PACE that provide incredible support for seniors and their families. We’d like to highlight a few of those today.

PACE Benefit: Priority Enrollment in a Senior Care Facility

You or your loved one’s ability to live independently may change over time. If PACE is no longer the best option for you, you will not go on a lengthy waiting list for nursing care or assisted living. When you are a member of PACE, you are already considered a part of the McGregor family. Our staff will get you moved quickly into the facility you need.

PACE Benefit: Regular Check-Ins by Caring Staff

When a senior has not been participating physically at the centers, our PACE staffers make regular calls to the senior to check in. Not only does this allow the PACE staffer to assess how the senior is doing, but it provides the senior and his or her family with a sense of care and reassurance. These calls also give participants opportunities to have social communication and can prevent feelings of isolation.

PACE Benefit: The Support of a Designated Social Worker

Many seniors and their families are unaware of the multitude of resources available to them in the Cleveland community. Put simply, PACE knows where these resources are and how to get them. All PACE seniors are matched with a social worker who can provide invaluable support and assistance in securing community resources to meet their needs. Other programs, like the Medicaid PASSPORT, do not provide the services of a social worker.
