Understanding What Aging Services Mean for Your Family
How the PACE Program Meets the Needs of Older Adults
When some older adults hear the term aging services, they may wonder: What exactly are aging services? And do I need them? Think of it this way: Most families will need some extra caregiving support at some point for a loved one. Perhaps one of your parents broke their hip and needs a respite stay to rehabilitate and regain their strength. Maybe you want to continue living in your home but some daily living tasks have become too much for you to handle on your own. Organizations like McGregor PACE exist to bridge the gap and provide the care you or your family needs.
Aging services are a basic right for everyone.
They encompass everything from medical care and therapy to assistance with cleaning and cooking. They can include transportation to and from medical appointments or a PACE adult day center. They may include having mobility equipment, like a chair lift or shower bench, installed at your home. Anything that helps promote your quality of living, independence, and strength is considered an aging service.
Our program is designed to provide aging services to older adults living in Cuyahoga County who want to continue to live independently in their homes in the community. McGregor PACE is committed to the same values you and your family prioritize as you age:
- To live in your own home
- Good mental health
- Good physical health
- Independence
- Financial health and security
We want you to live your best life—and thrive—as you age. Our team is here to help you understand how the PACE program works, whether you are eligible, and how you can begin receiving PACE services. Reach out to us to learn more and start the enrollment process.
