How PACE Provides Patient-Centered Care

The Emergence of Virtual Care Solutions in Health Care

How Telehealth Is Changing the Industry

When you need to speak with your primary care physician, do you prefer an in-person appointment or are you comfortable with a Zoom call? Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may not have known what a telehealth visit was, or it may not have been an option through your doctor. But at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many providers and their patients had to quickly adapt to incorporate virtual visits and consultations. According to the American Hospital Association, as of February 2020, less than one percent of Medicare primary visits were conducted by telehealth. Just two short months later, in April 2020, that percentage had surged to 43 percent.

Today, nearly 18 months later, it appears that virtual health care services are not going away. Rather, organizations are called to incorporate telehealth services in a more meaningful way. As an industry, we are being called to utilize the latest technologies pragmatically, always looking for ways that we can improve the convenience and speed of our senior care services and meet the expectations of the people we care for and the people who care for them.

As the industry changes, McGregor PACE continues to evaluate the best possible ways to deliver health care services to our seniors. We are committed to serving seniors in a way that is both convenient and provides the highest level of care possible. We do this by incorporating new technologies into the work of our interdisciplinary team of health and service professionals. We provide seniors with care from leading doctors and specialists in their community, often right in our day health centers, both in-person and virtually. This reduces the stress on seniors and their caregivers to arrange transportation to and from various doctors’ offices and hospitals across the county and to keep track of multiple appointments. In-person, or online, our staff can help facilitate the care needed and handle all the necessary technology so that our seniors do not have to.
