Understanding the PACE Philosophy

What Is the PACE Model of Care?

As you research options for you or your loved one to age in place within the Cleveland community, we hope you will consider McGregor PACE. There is so much contained in those four letters. The abbreviation PACE stands for “Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly.”

At McGregor PACE, we take all-inclusive care to heart. The medical and supportive services we provide aims to encompass the continuum of care needed by seniors in Cuyahoga County. Why do we believe in this so strongly? As the National PACE Association notes, “the PACE Model of Care is centered on the belief that it is better for the well-being of seniors with chronic care needs and their families to be served in the community whenever possible.”

We serve the needs of our participants and their families through providing all needed medical and supportive services, including:

  • Personalized primary medical care services by PACE physicians
  • Specialized services such as dentistry, audiology, optometry, podiatry, and speech therapy
  • Nursing services
  • Physical, occupational, and recreational therapies
  • All necessary prescription drugs
  • Respite care as well as hospital and nursing home care when necessary

In addition to medical and supportive services, we provide a number of other PACE services to meet their needs, such as transportation and social services.

Our commitment to our seniors enrolled in PACE has never been more evident than during the coronavirus pandemic. While there are certainly some limitations—such as the inability to offer our adult day care programs—some very important services continue. Since the closure of our centers for programming, we have delivered meals to our participants’ homes to make sure they always have food. We also have kept our centers open for clinical visits, ensuring that the continuity of medical care needed for our seniors to remain in their homes and in this community is uninterrupted.

When you are ready to benefit from the McGregor PACE program, please reach out to us to determine your eligibility and begin the enrollment process.
